Tugby featured in national newspaper

“A Leicestershire church that stood before the Norman Conquest … will enjoy a share of more than £500,000 distributed by National Churches Trust,” the national newspaper Church Times reported this week.

The article (which, unfortunately, can only be accessed online by subscribers) features a photograph of the church, and reports that “St Thomas Becket, Tugby, an Anglican church built in the 11th century … has been awarded £15,000 to repair its tower, dated to before the Norman Conquest.”

Both the grant and the publicity accompanying it are a welcome boost to the Tugby tower fundraising campaign. For more details about the grant, see the press release featured on this site in this earlier post.
